Meet Our Core Faculty: Samuel Harris, MD

Samuel Harris, MD is a Core Faculty Member of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Baptist Memorial Hospital - North Mississippi. Along with his Core Faculty position, he is on the Clinical Competency Committee, working to establish the academic hospitalist service, and heading the Teaming pathway of the Clinical Learning Environment. He is a Hospitalist at Baptist North Mississippi.
Although he spent his childhood and high school years in North Carolina and Rhode Island, he has deep family ties to North Mississippi. He decided to return to Oxford for undergraduate school at the University of Mississippi. He completed a B.S. in Biology and then continued on to medical school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Following graduation, he completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Baylor Scott and White in Temple, Texas. Hospitalist medicine was his primary interest during residency and upon finishing, he moved back to Oxford to work as a Hospitalist at Baptist Memorial Hospital. When not working, he spends time with his wife, Kacie, and daughter, Harper. He also enjoys dining in Oxford’s many great restaurants, running, playing golf or disc golf, and live music.
