Resident Spotlight: Mahmoud Elshawwaf, MD

Dr. Mahmoud Elshawwaf was born and raised in a small town in Egypt. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBCH) from the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University in Cairo, where he met his lovely wife.
After graduation, he moved to Houston, Texas, where he honed his clinical knowledge. He indulged in four years of clinical research as a Post-doctoral Fellow at Houston Methodist Hospital. Dr. Elshawwaf’s past experiences in helping underserved areas in Egypt inspire him to ultimately give back to the community.
He enjoys cooking with his wife, playing soccer, and reading.
