Why we love Oxford

Living in Oxford is a blend of the tranquil and the energetic. It has the tranquility of a quaint small town with a scenic town square and great neighborhoods. The University of Mississippi injects energy into the area to provide a very balanced living experience.
When my family and I decided to move to Oxford, this atmosphere was a significant part of our decision. We are able to raise our family in a safe environment with many opportunities for a growing family to experience. The small town allure is constantly elevated by the events that Ole Miss brings. There are sporting events to take my boys to. We love going to football, baseball, and basketball games. There are summer camps put on by the university sporting teams as well as numerous other summer activities. We often go to one of the many parks to spend a morning or an afternoon. Oxford has a wide range of faith opportunities and has a fantastic public school system, as well as private school options.
Oxford has a wide variety of experiences for people of varying tastes to enjoy. It has a fantastic array of restaurants for a town its size. Culturally, there are many experiences, from art galleries, to world class bookstores, to record shops, to arts festivals. The social scene is also eclectic and active. There are many venues that have significant performances from musicians, local and national. The Square provides many restaurants and bars to liven the social experience, as well. There are shopping opportunities that are seemingly bigger than the size of the town, centered around the Square, as well.
The culture of Oxford and is residents is also quite refreshing. Likely centered on many of the residents’ fondness for Ole Miss, there is a pride and love for being a part of this particular community among those who live here. In addition, many people choose Oxford as a retirement destination.
In short, it’s a town that many people desire to be in and to visit. It’s a town that many people hope to call home. When they do call it home, they are all that much more invested in its atmosphere and success. For this reason, it’s also a growing community with evermore opportunities and venues arriving for its residents to experience
It has and continues to be a great place to live.
